Some Things About BlackjackAssume that you are playing and using a multiple card deck game and the cards are being given out the dealer from the shoe in blackjack. You will then be given two cards in a face-up position. The dealer gets a single card in the face up position and a single card in a face down position or the hole card. After all of the cards are given out by the dealer, the dealer will then each player in the game to make their move. The player seated at the left side of the dealer will start the game. This is called 1st base. The last player that will act in the game is called the 3rd base. You will base your decision about how will you play your hand based on the up card by the dealer and the cards in your possession. A general rule for a beginner is to always think that the dealer has a ten in the hole. Always remember that in a card game given out from the shoe by the dealer, you are not given permission to touch the cards personally. If you or the dealer in the game is given an ace card and a ten value card you have know a total of twenty-one which is called blackjack. This considered to be a natural. If you get a blackjack, you will be rewarded in a three to two ratio for your wager provided that the dealer does not receive a blackjack the same time as you. If both you and the dealer achieve a blackjack, it is called a push. If only the dealer has a blackjack, all of the players will lose in the game. Hitting means that you will get another card. To inform the dealer that you get another card, you will hit the table in front of you or signal with your hand. If you wish to get another one you would repeat your previous action. Once you are happy with your cards after hitting, you can inform the dealer that you want to stand. You just have to wave your hands over the top of your cards. In order to double down, you will double your wager after getting your first two cards. You will then get a single card only on your current card hand. Majority of casinos will give you permission to double down on any pair of cards. Some casino facilities restrict doubling to card hands that has a sum of 10 or 11. A lot of players like this rule. To show that you will double down, you can place an additional wager next to your first wager. If you are given a pair of cards with the same value, you can divide the cards into two card hands. You must make an additional wager that is the same with your initial wager. You can tell the dealer that you are dividing your card hands by putting down your second wager next to your initial wager in the wagering area. Do not place this second wager on the top of the initial wager. Do not divide the card hand because it is the job of the dealer. You will not play each card hand at a single time. If the up card of the dealer is an ace card, the dealer can offer an insurance. You are not really insuring a card hand. This is a side wager that you can make betting half of your first wager that the dealer has a ten card in the hole. If you make the wager and the dealer has a ten card, you will be paid in a two to one ratio. You would then lose your initial wager but win the insurance wager, which functions by setting aside your original wager. Some casino facilities will permit you to surrender your card hand and give half of your wager on your first pair of cards after the dealer checks during the blackjack. This is called late surrender. This chance is not usually offered in a lot of casinos. It can be advantageous to the player if they played this option correctly. |
